The winner of the "Best of Food Taste" in Avalon

is The Lobster Trap!

"The Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of the sixth annual Taste Around of Avalon, recently announced the winner's of this year's Best of Tastes.

The Lobster Trap won the "Best of Food Taste" category with a record number of 267 votes. They served up a mouth watering and generous selection of chicken and seafood including swordfish, salmon, Ahi tuna, bacon-wrapped scallops, clams and oysters."

I've been coming to Catalina for years and I have recently found my new favorite bar & restaurant! The Lobster Trap (where Flip's Sushi Bar used to be by Scuba Luv) is the perfect combination of relaxed Island atmosphere, good music, fun people and fast bar service! It turns from restaurant to bar with live music around 9-10pm and goes until 2pm. The kitchen stays open and the food is awesome. I even went back the next day for lunch when I could appreciate how delicous the mango salsa and fresh fish was. Yum! My compliments to the Chef (who used to run the Channel House).

Great seafood! My friend took me here for lunch and it was the best fish I've had in a long time. I was expecting the bill to be much higher for such great quality. I'll be back!
